Identity or Attachment

Standing on the bridge and watching the flow of water adds life and vibrancy to my eyes, while the cool breeze brings a soothing and comforting sensation to my skin. The gentle sound of water creates a melodic symphony that enchants my ears, and the delightful smell of greenery embraces my nose. All of these elements come together to inspire a rush of poetry in my mind, and I find great joy in reciting these poems aloud. If I decide to jump into the water, I will be carried away by the powerful current of the river. Because of the emphasis on survival, there is limited space to embrace the beauty and unravel the poetic essence.

Similarly, look at the world as you, simply you. There is so much to learn from the diversity of religions, cultures, and many other aspects of life. Once you identify with any of them, it filters out the rest of the beauty.

Identifying with a religion may lead to preferences or aversions towards other religions; identifying with a country may lead to preferences or aversions towards other countries; identifying with a gender may lead to preferences or aversions towards other genders; and so on. This shows you are caught in the duals. This would cause you to drift for eternity with specific contents of life (like a religion, country, gender, family, etc.) and unable to experience the richness of life in its entirety, missing out on the intricate tapestry of diverse beings, each one showcasing their individual beauty.
