Feel Good Chemicals

 Part 1

Sitting on a beach, surrounded by the gentle sounds of crashing waves and the warmth of the sun on my skin, is truly an experience unlike any other. The cool breeze tousles my hair as I sink my toes into the soft, warm sand. The rhythmic ebb and flow of the ocean creates a soothing ambiance, lulling me into a state of tranquility. The laughter of children fills the air as they chase seagulls and frolic in the shallow waters, their joy contagious and infectious. Sitting on the beach, time seems to slow down, inviting a sense of mindfulness and presence in the moment.

Visiting a rainforest in the morning during spring is an awe-inspiring experience. As the first rays of sunlight filter through the dense canopy, the forest comes alive with a vibrant symphony of sights and sounds. The air is thick with the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers and the humidity lends a lush and fertile atmosphere to the surroundings. Walking through the rainforest, one can't help but be captivated by the diverse array of plant life that thrives in this unique ecosystem. Towering trees adorned with emerald green leaves reach towards the sky, forming a seamless canopy overhead. The ground below is carpeted with a tapestry of colorful wildflowers, ferns, and mosses, creating a rich and verdant carpet. The melodious trill of birds echoes through the trees as they flit from branch to branch. The air is filled with the chirping of insects, the croaking of frogs, and the gentle rustling of leaves. This symphony of nature's orchestra is a reminder of the intricate and interconnected web of life that exists within the rainforest. Time seems to slow down, inviting a sense of mindfulness and presence in the moment.

It is a well-known fact that our senses come alive when we visit beaches or lush green forests. As we soak in the beauty of nature, our stress levels plummet, and the worries and burdens that weigh us down dissipate into the air. Our brains, in response to the enchanting scenery, release a cascade of chemicals that induce a feeling of deep relaxation and joy. These chemicals, such as serotonin and dopamine, work their magic on both our mind and body, rejuvenating and healing us in ways we may not even be aware of.

But what if we could experience this profound impact of nature without physically being present in those natural spaces? Recent scientific studies have revealed that our minds possess the incredible ability to transport us to these haven-like environments, even from the comfort of our own homes thousands of miles away. By immersing ourselves in vivid and intense imagery, or by engaging in activities that evoke the essence of the beach or forest, we can tap into the same therapeutic effects. The brain does not discriminate between an actual visit and the imagination and it releases the same chemicals. It is as if our imagination bridges the physical distance, allowing our bodies to reap the same benefits as if we were actually there. What truly matters to the brain is the conscious feelings that we experience. It does not matter whether those feelings are coming from the actual visit or just with imagination. This understanding highlights the importance of our state of consciousness in influencing our overall health and vitality.

For a spiritual person, simply focusing on themselves and feeling how they have incarnated into trillions of beings all at the same time, experiencing themselves from countless perspectives, will give them the needed push for the brain to release those feel-good chemicals. This would not be the case with an average human being.

For the average person, the process is more involved. They need physical activities like going to the beach, spending fun moments with friends, eating delicious food, and engaging in various experiences to awaken their senses. Even to feel the divinity that is present within and around them, they embark on a journey spanning hundreds of miles. They believe that for everything, there is a necessary process, and the more complex it becomes, the greater their satisfaction. This process has evolved over thousands of years, primarily relying on nature. People have lived closely with nature, knowing nothing beyond it. In this process, they were heavily connected and integrated with the natural world. This bond with nature motivated them to explore further, unveiling the beauty and interconnectedness of everything around them. It also instills a drive to protect natural environments, nurturing them and passing down the immense natural wealth to future generations. Recent scientific studies demonstrate the similarity between human genes and those of other species in nature, highlighting the strong bond we share with our environment. Exploring nature brings immense joy, similar to reconnecting with old friends, stimulating the brain to release those feel-good chemicals that nourish every cell of our body.

As we all know that nature is an interconnected web of species and each one collaborates with the other, which makes their survival effortless giving them a choice (as well as time) to focus on expressing their unique nature, creating a canopy of wonder beyond our imagination. Nature is in a way giving this message to the entire humanity to connect, and collaborate with each other, which makes our survival effortless and we all can focus on expressing our diversified skills creating a colourful canopy like nature has been creating. This expression of our unique skills gives us immense joy and creates the same therapeutic effects by pushing the brain to release those good chemicals that nurture all cells of our human body.

Focusing on the development of our minds proves to be a more powerful method of maintaining (or restoring) optimal health compared to any other form of external medicine. While external medicine may only provide a cure in the best-case scenario, nurturing our minds can contribute to our personal growth as a human being along with our health, and it is free of cost.

Part 2

Integrating with nature is the simplest way to stimulate our brain to release feel-good chemicals that nurture our body, promoting good health both physically and mentally.

I remember psychiatrists prescribing similar chemicals that are artificially made to reduce depression, induce sleep, and for other reasons. It may be a good option temporarily, but definitely not a permanent one as these artificial chemicals do not integrate with the body like the natural chemicals that the brain releases. Additionally, the chemicals released by the brain are specific to the individual's needs in perfect dosages, which is not the case with artificial chemicals produced for mass usage.

There are many other artificial ways like alcohol, smoking, drugs, and entertainment (such as movies) that boast immense joy and are well promoted by corporations. These alternatives may provide happiness, but they are not integrated with the body, leading to many side effects. Throughout evolution, we have relied on nature for joy and have had a sense of nurturing it as it is the source of all happiness. Therefore, all our actions reflect that sense and result in behaviors aligned with nature. However, with these artificial ways, the source of happiness has shifted from nature, leading to a loss of the sense of nurturing it and resulting in actions that disregard the well-being of nature. This is causing a loss of diversity among species in nature, eventually resembling trees shedding leaves in winter.

Nature is free and available to all without discrimination. Artificial chemicals are costly and not everyone can afford them, yet many feel the need for them as their minds are diverted and no longer remember the easy way of getting happiness through nature. This compulsive need can lead individuals to engage in various criminal activities. It is your choice to develop the ability to find happiness from nature or artificial means. It is your choice to indulge in the sweetness of fruits along with their nutrition or swallow some chemicals or drinks with side effects in order to feel the same happiness. It all comes down to your choice as your body becomes accustomed to whatever you consistently do.
