Pain
When we impress our heart, it effortlessly radiates and impresses others. However, trying to impress others will never impress our heart.
Pain arises from the resistance to attend to our inner voice and express it. This resistance is the root cause of chaos in the world. The human mind has become preoccupied with the external world, forgetting the heart within, and as a result, their focus was skewed externally. They engage in various actions in pursuit of finding fulfillment, peace, and joy, but these efforts often prove futile. The human mind becomes restless eventually and falls into a state of chaos.
A king desires to conquer all lands, a leader desires to have their voice heard and followed by the masses, a person desires their spouse to meet their expectations without conflict, a house wife desires praise for the food she cooks, and so on. These desires are rooted in the belief that fulfillment and peace can be found in the external world. However, these expectations are bound to disappoint and will eventually fade, even if they are met, since consistent behavior from the external world is as improbable as waves appearing in a specific way on a beach. This is an obvious message from the universe that we are missing something essential in our pursuit of peace and joy.
The moment we recognize another faculty within us, the heart or inner world, we begin to calm down and start sourcing our actions from the heart. With the guidance of the human mind, which knows how to navigate the environment our body lives in, we manifest our actions in a balanced way. This balance brings immense peace and joy.
