Mind vs Heart v2

In many traditions, I remember often advising people to follow the inner voice . But this inner voice can arise from two distinct places within — the mind and the heart. The mind is the self identified with the physical body , backed by the knowledge and conditioning gathered since birth. The heart, on the other hand, is the self identified with nothing, the unknown, and is rooted in universal wisdom . Even as we go about life identified with the physical body, there are moments when we lose ourselves in wonder — those glimpses where we forget our bodily identity and connect unconsciously to something unknown and vast. I often wonder how to distinguish these two states. I am aware that what I share here is neither complete nor final, but I hope it conveys the essence I wish to express. When it comes from the mind, there’s never a feeling of completeness — always a bit of confusion, fear, or a lack of confidence . For example, once while waiting at a signal, a beggar approached me....

Moments in Silence #01

Once, during meditation , the shell of the small self (the self with false identifications such as the physical body, and thus bound by limitations, desires, fears, and more) was broken, and I could see myself expand beyond it. From that expanded self, the perception of life was entirely different. Many things that once appeared to be problems no longer seemed like problems at all. The clarity with which I began to respond to situations was astonishing. Above all, I felt unconditional love toward others, even toward those who once appeared as enemies. This love was outstanding and transformative. I realized that what everyone (including those we call troublemakers) truly needs is this love—for when given, it naturally inspires goodness in them. What we often offer instead is punishment or fear, which is exactly the opposite of what is needed.  Love, however, does not always mean sweetness or comfort. It can also take a sour form (like punishments). The difference lies not in...

Mind vs Heart

An idea sparked  when I came across the following statement while going through the https://mei-lanmaurits.com/   website: “The inner critic often speaks harshly, convincing us that we are not enough. But judgment does not free us—it only deepens our wounds. By letting go of self-judgment, we open space for compassion, growth, and peace.” To my understanding, the inner critic is the mind, not the heart. The heart (the divine voice—in other words, the voice that speaks when ego is absent) tries to nurture us with unconditional love and encourages us to express ourselves. It says that each of us is like a piece of a puzzle, with unique skills (more accurately, a unique composition of body and mind) compared to others, and so there is no place for comparison. It is about collaboration, just like all puzzle pieces which, when fitted in their proper slots, complete the bigger picture. No puzzle pieces will fit into the slot of other piece. There is no competition among t...

Self worth

Have you ever got the doubt whether you are really adding value in your life especially personal? Have you ever argued with others about how much value you are adding? This doubt never arises—and there is never a need for argument—to honorable Prime Minister of India , Sri Narendra Modi , or honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh , Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu , because they know they are working and adding value. They do not need validation from anyone. If you too can remain free from doubt like that, then you are truly adding value. Otherwise, most likely, you are not adding value but trying to cover it up with some logic. Never ask others for validation, as it may turn unpleasant. Instead, close your eyes and introspect sincerely—are you genuinely adding value? Also, genuinely feel what the other person (for example, your spouse or the one with whom you face conflicts) is doing. This kind of honest self-reflection will show you what is lacking from your side and help you impr...

micro Upanishad | Resonance

Concept: I sensed that the energy of myself (Vijay, in this context) resonates at a specific frequency, which is influenced by various energies in the external world during interactions. At the same time, this resonance is also affected by the resonance of universal energy, such as that of celestial bodies like planets and stars . Underlying all of this is a pure energy that serves as the foundation for everything. In parallel, there exists pure consciousness , and then consciousness associated with various identities—such as planets, stars, and individual physical bodies, among others. It seems that, depending on the level of one’s consciousness, the body resonates with energy corresponding to that level. The closer one (consciousness of a person or entity) aligns with pure energy, the more peaceful one becomes. Conversely, the more one is distracted by external energies resonating at different levels, the greater the resulting chaos. Meditative Experience: During my meditat...

When the Mind Gets Stuck

Examples to Contemplate When the Mind Gets Stuck in Worldly Situations When watching a movie, I am simply sitting on a chair and observing the drama on the screen. Nothing from the screen can come out and physically affect me, yet I still feel fear, happiness, and many other emotions along with the characters. This shows that I am identifying with certain characters, causing me to resonate with their energy and experience everything that happens to them. While this identification may be acceptable for enjoying the movie, it is important to return to my original state afterwards. An online video game offers an even more immersive experience. Unlike movies, which only display pre-recorded events, online games allow interaction and dynamic outcomes through the ability to control characters. In this context, I may identify with the character I represent and feel corresponding emotions. Again, this identification is helpful to fully experience the game, but I should return to my orig...

Awareness

I remember as a kid, I was crying for some doll. Now, when I become an adult, if I look back at that situation, I laugh. What is the difference between that day and today? The difference is awareness . As a kid, awareness is very low, but as an adult, it is much improved. Now we have a lot of problems, and we try to resolve them with our state of awareness , but very rarely we arrive at a real solution. We may arrive at some compromise and this and that, but a real solution where all parties are happy is very rare. The solution lies in improving our awareness . Just like a problem when I was a kid is not a problem when I am an adult, the problems I am facing now as an adult will not be a problem if my awareness has improved. The solution is to use the situations we are in, take the help from someone who has got more awareness if possible, or try to take some break from the routine and sit in silence, or whatever the solution works for you to increase your awareness. Awareness tran...
