When a relationship is run by the generic framework of society—bound by prescribed duties and responsibilities—it becomes a mechanical journey on autopilot, leaving no room or need for divine guidance. True spiritual union begins when a couple steps off this map; without a societal script to lean on, the bond is guided entirely by the quiet voice coming from deep within, the abode of divinity. But this profound truth is not just about human relationships. It is the core law of spiritual exploration itself. When we are first starting out and know nothing, we absolutely need a map. A guru, a religion, or ancient scriptures serve as this vital map, helping us find our bearings when we are lost. However, the only true purpose of any spiritual map is to point us toward our own inner sanctuary. The danger arises when we refuse to look up from the map.
