Wilderness
Love is about sharing what we have with others for their benefit. I’m mentioning this here because the entire article is about love.
“The suppression of love creates a dam within, unleashing destructive forces when the gates burst open.”
When human emotions, particularly the feeling of love, are suppressed, it creates a blockage of energy within. It’s like the way water flow is obstructed when all gates are closed in a dam, causing immense pressure. Eventually, the mind reaches a breaking point, which varies from person to person. At this stage, it becomes disturbed and loses its tenderness in dealing with relationships. Eventually, this would lead to disastrous decision-making, such as the initiation of wars, destruction of nature and many more.
I once heard someone mention that the reason Vietnam, a small country, could triumph over the mighty United States Army was because the people of Vietnam had suppressed their emotions, particularly love, because of the constant struggle for survival caused by poverty. The pent-up energy found an outlet through war, and the intensity with which they fought far surpassed that of the US Army.
India was once a highly cultured society. Their focus was on leading fulfilling lives rather than engaging in conflicts. Consequently, their military capabilities weakened, leaving them vulnerable to invasions by other armies. As a general rule, barbaric nations often have an advantage in wars against cultured or wealthy countries.
If we observe the world around us, we can see that individuals who are poor and constantly striving to make ends meet often lack the time to cultivate their minds with positive emotions like love. Similarly, extremely wealthy individuals have access to endless opportunities to explore the world around are left with little time to nurture their emotional well-being. In both cases, they may become wild, resulting in violent actions.
As a rule, anyone fully occupied with day-to-day activities (they can be politicians, businessmen, employees, anyone), often finds themselves with no time to feel human emotions resulting in stressed relations and also the decisions they make result in disasters.
