Let the universe know
If you want a clean room, clean it. By doing so, you are sending a message to the universe that cleanliness holds significance to you. The universe may eventually find a way to automate this task, although I am unsure of the specifics. Conversely, if your choice of action is to complain and expecting others to clean your room, the universe picks up on your inclination to find something to complain about and generates circumstances that provide opportunities for complaining. This occurs because all you are doing is complaining.
In this context, cleanliness is not just an act, but a message to the universe.
In a similar vein, when you find yourself in pain and choose to turn to god for healing, the universe may present you with many gods from whom you can seek solace. If your choice of action is to worry about the pain, the universe will bring more opportunities (even aggravate pain) for you to worry. However, if your choice is to minimize your focus on the pain and gradually engage in your chosen activities as if the pain does not exist. By doing so, the universe opens up more opportunities to engage with your choice and may provide you with a smoother and easier path to recovery (as the pain is no longer your primary focus). Eventually, it does not matter if the pain subsides or persists as you are engaged with your choice of activities.
Due to our limited sense of self, we believe that we have achieved something only if it was accomplished by our physical bodies. However, in reality, our true self knows no boundaries. A day will come when you will recognize your achievements regardless of who, or which body, accomplished them. This signifies merger of your individual identity with the true self that permeates everything, much like a drop merging with the ocean.
Your actions serve as a means of communication with the universe. Be thoughtful while choosing them.
